School Overview | Halstead St Andrew's, Woking

Our commitment is to nurture and support each child as they explore their interests and unlock their full potential and leave HSA as well-rounded, determined young people.

HSA School

More than just a classroom

From the moment your child joins HSA, we instil a sense of fun, making learning a positive experience. This is not just in the classroom but extended to outside the classroom. We are an opportunity-rich school where pupils can take part in a diverse range of clubs and activities to support their growth and development.

Our values-driven approach ensures that while academic standards are high, the learning environment is caring, secure and nurturing, allowing each child to thrive as happy and confident learners.

We understand that every child is unique, with their own individual talents and passions. Whether your child's heart sings on the stage, shines on the sports pitch, or flourishes in academic pursuits, we celebrate and encourage their diverse talents.

Through open communication and collaboration, we work hand in hand with families to ensure that each child receives the personalised support and guidance they need to thrive.

Our Nursery and Pre-Prep are based at our Woodham Rise site: a stimulating and age-appropriate environment for our youngest pupils, which creates a happy and secure learning environment. There are expert, class-based and specialist teachers to inspire and nurture our pupils.

From Year 3, pupils move to Church Hill House. Here they enjoy continuing outstanding teaching and the facilities of our well-appointed site and extensive playing fields. They then (from 2026) will have the opportunity to stay with us through to GCSE.

Having two dedicated sites allows us to maintain a small and nurturing school atmosphere in each, while the resources and security that are part of a larger school ensures that the teaching and learning environment is entirely appropriate for the different age groups.

One of the defining features of Halstead St Andrew's is freedom of choice. Whilst we hope that pupils will progress from our Prep School to our Senior School, we will continue to prepare pupils opting for other senior schools at both 11+ and 13+. We will also continue to support parents in finding the next stage school that is best suited to their child's individual needs. This flow of incoming pupils at key transition points creates a stimulating and energised educational environment.

We support all our pupils in taking their place in the community and wider world, demonstrating civic duty and interpersonal skills alongside the ability to think creatively. In an ever-changing world, in which our pupils will face many challenges, we believe the environment we create fosters adaptability and reflects society today.

At Halstead St Andrew's, a successful education goes beyond academic studies. We are confident that pupils will leave us as well-rounded, determined young adults who are prepared for the future.
