HSA welcomes Woking MP, Will Forster
HSA was delighted to welcome Will Forster, Liberal Democrat MP for Woking, to the school yesterday for an engaging and thought-provoking visit with our pupils.
During his visit, Mr Forster spent time with our Pupil Voice group, where pupils had the opportunity to ask questions and discuss a wide range of current affairs. He also addressed children from Years 3 to 8 during a whole-school assembly, sharing insights into his role as a Member of Parliament and the importance of public service.
Our pupils embraced the opportunity with enthusiasm, asking a variety of insightful and well-informed questions. Topics ranged from what inspired Mr Forster to pursue a career in politics, to discussions on immigration, VAT on independent schools, and the recent resignation of the Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer.
The visit provided a valuable opportunity for pupils to engage directly with an elected representative, encouraging them to think critically about democracy, leadership and the issues shaping the country today.
Thank you to Mr Forster for taking time out of his busy schedule to visit HSA and for answering our pupils' questions. Experiences like these help to bring learning beyond the classroom and inspire our pupils to become informed, engaged citizens.
