At Halstead St Andrew’s, we provide a comprehensive Physical Education and Games programme that emphasises Indvidual development and focuses on developing a lifelong love of sport and physical activity, We provide a broad range of activities and skills through a balance of curriculum based activities, competitive match play for all abilities and an extensive extra-curricular programme with a wide array of sports through clubs and training.
Our pupils are fortunate to have a generous allocation of curriculum time dedicated to PE and games lessons each week including a games/match afternoon where competitive match opportunities are provided for all pupils.
In games lessons, pupils are taught within year groups and the major sports of the term are taught. Additionally, these sportsFootball (Feb – March) are also played within match afternoons. The table below shows the sports in each term for boys and girls.

Physical Education lessons are taught to classes and cover a variety of team and individual activities including, basketball, athletics, swimming, badminton, tennis, cross country, fitness and more.

We run plenty of trips during the course of the academic year including ski trips, sports tours and opportunities to experience live sport.
